Midwest All Stars to sanction Lou Blaney Memorial at Sharon Speedway

CAMARGO, IL. (6-20-11) – The O’Reilly Auto Parts Midwest All
Star Sprint Series is proud to announce the sanctioning of the Lou Blaney
Memorial Race at Sharon Speedway on Tuesday, July 12.

The $3,000 to win 410 sprint race will feature be a NASCAR Sprint Cup
drivers’ night at two Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and
Dave Blaney will participate. Tom’s Sewer and Septic Service Night will
also feature a $2,000 to win Big Block Modified feature event.

The Lou Blaney Memorial honors the memory of the hall of famer who passed
away in 2009 after a lengthy illness. Lou, the father of three time All
Star champion Dale Blaney and Dave Blaney, who began his career in sprint
cars and was the 1995 National Sprint Car Driver of the year after winning
the Knoxville Nationals, the Historical Big One and Kings Royal at Eldora
Speedway and the World of Outlaws Championship. Lou Blaney was as
comfortable in a modified as he was a sprint car and had over 500 career
victories in a career that spanned 45 years.

that honors such a legendary driver and family,” said All Star President
Guy Webb. “The Blaney family is one of the most respected and well-liked
families in racing and we couldn’t be more proud to be associated with this
event.”

On Saturday, July 9, the Midwest All Stars will compete at West Virginia
Motor Speedway prior to the Lou Blaney memorial

With two events having been run in 2011, veteran Danny Smith leads the
Midwest All Star point standings by just 14 markers over Rob Chaney with
Jac Haudenschild, Greg Wilson and Jared Ridge rounding out the top five.
