Brownsburg, Indiana (July 7, 2011) — Ireland’s Ali Jackson returned to the Bryant Heating & Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome weekly wars on Wednesday night, July 6, along with 11 other midgets to compete in the USAC Mopar D1 Midget event. Ali began the evening strong by winning his 10-lap heat race in the Nine Racing, Inc. team #9 midget.

With the Indianapolis Speedrome starting grid inversion based on points earned, Ali started the feature in 6th position. Early in the race while trying to make a pass, Ali spun and hit an inside corner berm and sustained considerable damage, which prevented him from continuing the race.

“I’ve been working hard to get the handle on racing at the Speedrome and just when I thought I was making some progress, I made a mistake,” explained Ali Jackson. “Glenn Martin is working hard on the car now so I will be back next week.”

As a result of this week’s race, Ali Jackson is fourth in the USAC D1 Mopar Midget series, only 77 points behind first-place leader Jake Blackhurst. Ali will return to the Bryant Heating & Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome next Tuesday, July 12 in the #9 midget.

Nine Racing’s 2011 sponsor lineup includes K&N Engineering, Eibach Springs, Weld Racing, Klotz Synthetic Lubricants, Penske Racing Shocks, Performance Friction Brakes, ASE, Earl’s Performance Plumbing, SSi Decals, PJ1, and Hoosier Racing Tire.
