Kraig Kinser Heads North of the Border this Week for a Trio of Races

By Parsons Motorsports PR

Granger, IA—July 25, 2011—Kraig Kinser has gotten to know Canada pretty well over the last three years, as the World of Outlaws have been continually expanding their presence in the Great White North year by year. That trend will continue in 2011, as the series will make two separate visits north of the border for a total of five nights of racing at four different tracks in three Provinces.

A trio of Canadian races awaits Kinser and the Casey’s General Store team this week, beginning on Wednesday, July 27 at Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario, followed by the series inaugural visit to Brockville Ontario Speedway on Friday, July 29 and will wrap up on Saturday, July 30 at Autodrome Drummond in Quebec.

Kinser raced for the first time at Ohsweken Speedway in 2009, finishing ninth in the finale of that two-day event. He opened the Six Nations showdown last season by setting fast time in the opener with a solid 36-car field in attendance and wrapped up the event with a sixth-place finish in the main event on the second night. The third generation driver has made four total starts at the track recording a pair of Top-10 finishes.

Kinser finished seventh last season in the inaugural World of Outlaws event at Autodrome Drummond, which marked the series first-ever visit to Quebec. He was seventh quick in time trials at the four-tenths-mile and finished third in his heat race to earn a spot in the dash, where he came home seventh.

The World of Outlaws will be competing for the first time at Brockville, Ontario Speedway, which will mark the fifth track in Canada that the series has competed at dating back to 1979. Kinser has had a good deal of success visiting tracks for the first time in his career with the World of Outlaws, including winning in his first start at Cottage Grove Speedway in Oregon in 2004, Batesville Speedway in Arkansas in 2005, along with a victory in the series debut at North Central Speedway in Minnesota in 2008.

The native of Bloomington, Ind. enters this week 12th in the World of Outlaws standings, just 51 markers out of the Top-10. He looks to get back on track after finishes of 19th and 21st in the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Twin 30’s at Lernerville Speedway last week, finishes of 21st and 22nd at Williams Grove Speedway during the Summer Nationals and a 14th-place showing at Lebanon Valley Speedway.

Kraig on Ohsweken Speedway:

“Ohsweken is a pretty unique place. Everyone up there does a great job preparing for the event. It will be a little different having just a single night there this year, but we are excited to head up there and see all of the great fans. Time trials will be important as always and last year I set fast time there.”

Kraig on Brockville Ontario Speedway:

“It’s always fun to go to tracks we have never been to. The fans in Canada are great. They know their sprint car racing and are big World of Outlaws fans. With it being everyone’s first time at the track, that kind of equals the playing field a bit, but everyone out here is able to adapt to tracks pretty quick when they see a new one.”

Kraig on Autodrome Drummond:

“We are really looking forward to going back to Drummondville this year. They had an amazing crowd there last year and everyone was so excited to see the World of Outlaws for the first time. I had a pretty good run there last year and hopefully we can have another one this week. We’re getting ready to head to some tracks I’ve done well at in the past, so hopefully we can get some momentum going.”
