The Bryant Heating and Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome® is proud to welcome back the USAC Mopar National Midget Series. Pure Power Technologies & UAW present the UAW 100 Mel Kenyon Classic to be held on Friday July 29th. For the first-time in over 6 years, the best and brightest open wheel stars from around the country will be on hand. Midwest rising star Mario Marietta is very familiar with the famous fifth-mile. He looks to use that Speedrome experience to win this Friday night. This will be the National Midgets 43rd appearance at the Speedrome dating back to the inaugural on August 3, 1958.

Mario Marietta is fresh off his first 2011 Speedrome victory on July 20th in the USAC Mopar D1 Midget series. The Hoosier speedster has a bushel of top five results to go with that triumph helping him stay 5th in the current series standings. Mario started his racing career at age 8 in Quarter Midgets and quickly moved into Go-Karts at age 10. He won his first national Junior Dirt Go-Kart Championship soon after. He remained in Go-Karts until age 14, when he moved into Kenyon Midget competition where he finished fourth in championship points after his first full year. At age 16, Mario moved into the top echelon running in the USAC Mopar National Midget series and at age 17. He ended that campaign runner-up for Rookie of the Year.

2010 saw Marietta become champion when he topped the UMARA and the USSA standings. The rising star also spent time gaining valuable experience in a Sprint Car as well as a full bodied stockcar. Every lap has added more and more confidence in this young gun racer. This Friday, he aims to add an important win to his growing resume in the Pure Power Technologies & UAW 100 Mel Kenyon Classic. The previous event winners read like a who’s who in motorsport. They include Kenny Irwin Jr, Mike Bliss, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Tracy Hines, and Jason Leffler.

Tickets are on sale now for this tremendous event. Adult general admission tickets are just $15 with children ages 6-11 just $6 while kids 5 & under are free. You can charge by phone at (317) 353-8206 or stop in the Speedrome pit office. This ticket price is the best price in the country to see these USAC Mopar National Midget series speedsters in action. We are very excited to have them here. The Speedrome has hosted nearly 500 USAC sanctioned events which is far and away more than any other track in the world.
