ROSSBURG, OH (Sept. 29) – With the cooler temperatures of the season falling upon Eldora Speedway, track officials have wisely rescheduled the upcoming Sprintacular event to a twilight show. The Saturday (Oct. 1) show will find the hot lap and time trial sessions beginning at 4:00, while the race time has been moved forward to 6:00 PM.
Sponsored by the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH), the Sprintacular will see the return of the All Star Sprints to Eldora Speedway after a one-year hiatus; along with the NRA (National Racing Alliance Sprint Invaders and Legends cars.
Defending champion, and current points leader, Tim Shaffer will attempt to capture his first-ever All Star win on the legendary one-half mile clay oval as the Midwestern based sanctioning group looks to revive a 29 year-tradition at Eldora.
For the NRA contingent, parity has again been the dominant factor this season. There have been no repeat winners in the three events contested thus far in 2011. Butch Schroeder captured the opening NRA event in May, while David Gravel and Randy Hannagan were victorious over the Kings Royal weekend.
Admission gates for Saturday’s show, the final Sprint Car appearance for 2011, will swing open at 2:00 in the afternoon.
