FORLER SET FOR WINGLESS DEBUT IN ARIZONA

Inside Line Promotions

– LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (Oct. 19) – Logan Forler is ready for a new challenge this weekend.

The 18-year-old from Lake Havasu City, Ariz., will compete on Friday and Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park in nearby Peoria, Ariz., for the ASCS Canyon-Southwest Championships. He will also try racing without wings for only the second time when he will contend with the ASCS Canyon Region on Saturday at the 3/8-mile dirt oval.

“I’ve just watched videos of that place,” he said. “It looks kind of like Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash.”

Forler has raced in a wingless car only once in his career – at Grays Harbor Raceway, where he finished third. Three of his five winged victories this season have been at Grays Harbor Raceway.

“Finesse,” he said of racing wingless. “Knowing how to control the throttle is the key. I’m a lot better than I used to be.”

Forler will start the weekend on Friday with the ASCS Southwest Region, which he finished third in at USA Raceway in Tucson, Ariz., on Oct. 1.

In three races in the state of Arizona this season, Forler has three top 10s – all at USA Raceway. He’ll wrap up the season there on Nov. 17-19 with the ASCS National Tour.

After this weekend, Forler is slated to take a couple of weeks off before the ASCS National Tour event at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M. on Nov. 11-12.
