Mini Gold Cup Night 1 Recap

From CDR

Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California was the next site of action for Craig Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands #7 team as they returned to the tight bullring where ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ won last year’s Mini Gold Cup and finished fifth in the most recent event last September.

When racing got underway with qualifying time trials, Dollansky piloted the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim to the 7th fastest lap upon the 35 competitors at 12.788 seconds. With the top sixteen inverted into four heat races, the MobileStar backed sprinter started inside of row two in heat three. Great battles all over the track in the heats saw Dollansky race with Terry McCarl and very close with Lucas Wolfe but the Elk River, Minnesota native would cross the line in 3rd and just miss out on a spot in the dash.

In the 35-lap A-Main the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products #7 started outside of row seven. Although there were two cautions in the feature, opportunity to advance was easier said than done as the entire field ran in the rubber along the bottom side of the track as Dollansky fell in line and crossed the finish line in 16th.

The Big Game Treestands #7 team returns to Silver Dollar Speedway tonight for the finale of the Mini Gold Cup.
