Chico, CA — (July 2, 2012) — Add three-time USAC Silver Crown Champion Bud Kaeding to the ever growing list of 410 winged sprint car drivers trying to win the $3,000 pay day this Wednesday, July 4th, at the Silver Dollar Speedway.  Kaeding, who is also in a four way tie with the most sprint car wins in America for 2012, has committed to run during the Fast Cars and Freedom night at the speedway.  “Chico’s always been a special place for me and the Kaeding family,” said Bud.  “We saw this on the schedule a while ago and were excited to get the chance to race for a big payday and watch some fireworks after the races with the good fans in Chico.”

Kaeding is no stranger to sitting in victory lane on July 4th at Chico.  In 2009, Kaeding won the Golden State Series 410 main event on July 4th.  He currently leads the west coast USAC 360 points while getting wins in both winged and non wing sprint cars in 2012.  Kaeding has amassed nine sprint car wins in 2012 putting him in a tie for the most in the Country.  Bud has also been at the forefront of the inaugural California Sprint Car & Midget Power Poll hosted by www.stevenblakesley.com.  Kaeding was voted the top California sprint car driver on June 5th between media members and his finishes.

Chico’s Brad Bumgarner and Kenny Allen will lead the list of local drivers vying for the $3,000 pay day.  Bumgarner and his family have recently been burning the midnight oil to get ready for the 4th.  “Since the past race, we have been going 110 percent because our 410 motor needed to be refreshed,” said Bumgarner.  “You would not believe how much work we have done in preparation for getting ready and racing on the 4th of July.”

Paradise top runner John Michael Bunch and defending track champion Tyler Wolf of Redding are also entered.  Chico’s Michael Tarter and Kevin Sharrah will also give this race a local flavor.  Sacramento’s Willie Croft is also expected to be a front runner.  B.J. Martin, Bud Walberg and Cody Lamar are other expected drivers.  With so much money on the line it should reach out to a lot of drivers looking for a chance to win it all.

The largest display of fireworks in Chico will take place this Wednesday night, July 4th, at the Silver Dollar Speedway.   Fast cars and freedom will be the theme at this year’s Independence Day and Night of traditional grass roots racing and in sky fireworks.  The 410 winged sprint cars, street stocks, mini stocks and hobby stocks will provide the on track fireworks on the traditional quarter-mile clay oval.  Directly following the races, the skies will light up with bright lights and loud booms.  Throughout the night the speedway will be playing American themed music, offer American themed concession food and the have all kinds of decorations around the grandstands.

Front grandstand gate opens at 5pm.  Racing is slated to start at 6pm.  Adult ticket prices are $16.00 with juniors ages 12 to 15 is $12.00.  Kids 11 and under are free!  To buy advance tickets please visit your local Chico, Paradise and Oroville Riebes Auto Parts.  Tickets will also be on sale the day of the event at the speedway box office located at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds.
