SANTA MARIA, CA – JULY 17, 2012… With the addition of Victorville’s Route 66 Motorplex to the schedule, fans of the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series can look to a rare doubleheader in Southern California. Starting August 18th at Perris Auto Speedway, the “Freeway Series” will conclude the following night at Victorville’s 3/8-mile facility. The doubleheader will test both youngsters and veterans alike, as valuable championship points are available on both nights.

The Saturday, August 18th showcase at Perris Auto Speedway will be the seventh race of the year at Don Kazarian’s 1/2-mile oval. Temecula’s Mike Spencer has dominated the action in Ron Chaffin’s #50 Madera Produce Maxim by winning four of the last five events at USAC/CRA’s “home track.” Nic Faas of Huntington Beach raced Mark Alexander’s #4 Scott Sales Company Spike to the February 25th “Sokola Shootout” victory. The action packed card will also feature the PAS Senior 360 Sprint Cars and the popular winged California Lightning Sprints. The spectator gates will open at 5:00pm, with racing at “America’s Premier Dirt Track” to begin at 7:00pm. More information can be found at perrisautospeedway.com or calling (951) 940-0134.

Scott Burns, an ex-CRA and SCRA Sprint Car driver, has recently taken over the promotions and his efforts are supported by the racing community. Last season on March 26th, Faas set a new track record in time trials and Spencer won the 30-lap main event. The USAC Western Midget Series will make their first ever appearance at Victorville on August 19th, making this a must see event for open wheel fans. The pit gate will open at noon, the spectator gates will open at 3:30pm, and racing is slated for 6:00pm. More information can be found at dirtentertainment.com or calling (909) 237-4965.
