New USAC TRAXXAS Silver Crown Champion Bobby East of Brownsburg, Ind. finished with a 12-point margin of victory over runner-up Jerry Coons Jr. as a result of Saturday night’s “Sumar Classic 100” finale at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track.

East led all 100 laps to win the event, with Coons taking second ahead of Russ Gamester, Bud Kaeding and Tracy Hines.

The victory by East in the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Maxim/Kistler left Stewart tied for the all-time lead in terms of USAC Silver Crown wins with 27.

RW Motorsports/Curb-Agajanian of Lederach, Pa., who fielded cars for Coons and sixth-place Clauson at Terre Haute, emerged with the 2012 USAC TRAXXAS Silver Crown car entrant title.

East’s margin of victory in Saturday’s 100-lapper was 12.751 seconds.

Driver Steve Adams suffered a concussion during a practice session flip and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
