Bryan Clauson’s bid for a third consecutive USAC National Drivers Championship is on hold until the AMSOIL National Sprint Car races at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz. October 26-27.

Clauson has a 71-point lead over Tracy Hines after last week’s races at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track. Hines had a fourth and fifth at Terre Haute, while Clauson had a pair of sixths. Third-ranking NDC driver Dave Darland posted a fifth and 12th in the two USAC Terre Haute outings.

Sunday’s AMSOIL National Sprint Car race at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich. was rained out due to rain.
