Marysville, CA — (March 16, 2013) — Tragedy struck Marysville Raceway Park on Saturday night during a Civil War Series sprint car event when a sprint car exited the racing surface through a pit opening at speed and struck onlookers. Two people were killed in the incident. Out of respect to the families the names of the victims have not been released. No other injuries were reported.
Marysville Raceway Park officials posted the following statement on their Facebook fan page.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone. Out of respect we will not elaborate on details. We ask everyone to respect each other and the families.
