Port Royal, PA — (April 15, 2013) — It will be 2012 National Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Logan Schuchart of Hanover that will pilot a replica Weikert’s Livestock No. 29 sprinter at Port Royal Speedway for the All Star Circuit of Champions Bob Weikert Memorial on April 27.

As the biggest sprint car race contested in 2013 to date in the east, the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway will pay a stout $10,000 to win again this season.

A total A Main purse alone of over $34,000 is being posted to go along with another nearly $4,000 in contingency cash to be distributed via lap money, heat victories, fast time award and more.

Run in honor of late hall of fame sprint car owner Bob Weikert, the Weikert Memorial has quickly become one of the shining lights of both the Port Royal and All Stars seasons over the last few years.

Schuchart, the 20-year old grandson of racing legend Bobby Allen who himself piloted the famous No. 29 during his career, was approached by the Weikert family during the last several weeks to undertake the task.

The continuation of the tradition of putting a No. 29 on the track for the prestigious event will find Schuchart trying to win the event for its namesake for the first time after previous attempts by the likes of Kenny Jacobs, Tyler Walker, Justin Henderson and others have failed.

Again this year, each lap of the 30-lap Weikert feature will pay $100 to lead.  Fast time will be worth $200.

Both courtesy of CRANKWERKZ, a feature hard charger will be awarded $100 to go along with the highest driver in Port Royal points that fails to qualify, who will also get $100.

Each heat race in the Weikert Memorial will also pay $100 to win in memory of late motorsports journalist Jere Reigle.

Action begins at 7 pm on April 27.
