A rare two-day race weekend will occur this Saturday and Sunday at the Susquehanna Speedway Park. RONNIE GARDNER WINS “BATTLE AT THE BEACH” AT VENTURA

Taking the lead from Jake Swanson on lap nineteen, Norco’s Ronnie Gardner of Norco won Saturday’s “Battle at the Beach” at Ventura Raceway. The 30-lap VRA co-sanctioned victory marked Gardner’s first career USAC Western Midget Series triumph as the group heads to the Madera pavement on May 4th. Swanson, Johnathon Henry, David Prickett, and Kody Swanson followed Gardner to the checkered flags.

Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame adds Smokey the Clown vehicles to collection

The Fremont Speedway Historic Club – thanks to the family of Phil Huss aka Smokey the Clown – has added to its collection, the 1931 Model A Ford “Leapin’ Lenna and the 1947 Crosley. These cars will be used for special occasions at Fremont Speedway and local parades, etc. The family of Phil Huss has also donated many items of Smokey’s to be displayed in the hall of fame.

This weekend’s inaugural USAC/Powri “Kokomo Grand Prix” at the Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway is expected to generate a battle for the early USAC National Dirt Midget point lead.
