Lawrenceburg, IN — (May 4, 2013) — Despite a two hour rain delay, The Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Sprint car feature did not disappoint as CJ Leary started from the 5th position.  After a first lap red flag involving 5 cars, the rains came putting the completion of the race in jeopardy.  Two hours later, the track had been worked in, and the sprint cars came back to the track to line up for a restart with 24 laps to go.  Kevin Thomas, Jr. restarted as the leader and quickly pulled away from the rest of the field.  Josh Clemons, Kyle Robbins, CJ Leary and Brett Burdette all were fast in the top 5.  By lap 17, CJ Leary had moved into second when the caution flag flew.  This would set up what would be a fantastic and thrilling finish.  Leary followed KT until turn 3 on the final lap and dove underneath Thomas to take the lead.  Thomas tried to go back underneath Leary coming off of turn 4 but Leary beat him back to the line.  As Leary was strolling around the track on the victory lap is engine blew as a big puff of smoke billowed from the engine.  Leary rolled his car into victory lane for the second time in the 17 year old’s young career. Thomas finished second, followed by Brett Burdette, Kyle Robbins, and Joshua Clemons.  Heat race winners were Leary, Robbins and Thomas.  The sprint cars return to the track on Saturday, May 11th.
