SYRACUSE, NY – As the 2013, 30th Anniversary tour for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) gets ready to kick off into high gear, the sponsorship programs continue to build. The latest is the Jimmy D’s Speed and Machine Fast Time Award of the night.
Jimmy Delucia has been a fan of ESS for many years and is also a top notch engine builder within the ranks of the sprint car organization. Chuck Hebing, Jason Barney, Bryan Howland, Charlie Donk, Tommy Wickham, Vinnie Vitale, Dave Wickham, Zach Weigand, Dave Axton and Brandan Warner will see ESS action this year and have Jimmy D power in their stable.
With that success Jimmy D’s Speed and Machine has come aboard to sponsor the fast time of the night. The driver that turns the fastest time overall during the course of the race program will get a cash bonus from Jimmy D’s. So far Steve Poirier (Can-Am) and Pat Cannon (Selinsgrove) have collected the bonus in races run.
Jimmy D’s not only produces alcohol breathing sprint car engines, but also for super modifieds, dirt modifieds and so many more in the forms of motorsports. Delucia joins a long list of nightly sponsors that adds to the already highest paying A-Main purse in the area. The 30th Anniversary Tour is easily the most lucrative in the long history of the Lucas Oil backed organization.
The tour enters familiar territory this weekend with stops at the Fonda and Utica-Rome Speedways to help celebrate the Memorial Weekend. Steve Poirier is leading Justin Barger, Kevin Ward Jr., Dylan Swiernik and Jeff Cook going into the busy weekend.
