Running a true Outlaw schedule in 2013, it was only fitting that Tim Kaeding and his Roth Motorsports team made an unscheduled stop at the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night and took home the big check, as the team scored their sixth win of the year on the heels of their worst finish of the season.

“It was an interesting weekend,” Kaeding said. “We led late, and ended up second on Friday and then Saturday we had some fuel issues and ended up with a DNF, and capped it off nicely with a win on Sunday.”

Checking in for the Sunday night show at the Huset’s Speedway, TK was fast all night, as he jumpstarted his night by setting the standard in time-trials and setting the quickest lap.

In heat race action, the San Jose, CA driver started in the third row, and was very strong, as he worked his way up to a second place finish, putting him in the eighth spot for the feature event.

Starting in the fourth row against a very strong field of cars, TK’s Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle machine was dialed in, as he was on a mission to the front.

Getting into a very exciting battle with Terry McCarl and Lynton Jeffery, as he had worked his way up to third.

With just two laps to go, Kaeding closed in on McCarl who took over the lead at the halfway point, and made his move, getting around McCarl for the top-spot on lap 23, and never looking back, as he went on to pick up the exciting win.

“That was a hell of a race right there,” Kaeding said. “I held my breath the last 10 laps.”

Friday night, Kaeding was with the World of Outlaws as they stopped in at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND.

With 36 cars on hand, Kaeding opened the night up by timing in eighth fastest, putting him in the second row of his heat race, where he picked up the win, and moved into the Dash.

Starting fourth in the Dash, TK picked up third at the line, and put himself inside row three for the feature event.

When the race went green, Kaeding held the third spot as he chased after early leader, Cody Darrah, and second running Joey Saldana.

With the lead duo entertaining the crowd, TK kept them within striking distance, until the yellow waived on lap 18, putting TK in the second spot for the double-file restart.

Returning to action, TK was hard on the throttle, as he rocketed out to the lead, with Cody Darrah behind him.

Leading the next 15-laps, Kaeding would get hung up in traffic on lap 34, and Darrah would sneak past him, and Kaeding would settle for second.

“I have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for continuing to allow us to run with the Outlaw’s, and giving us great equipment to do so,” he said. “We are out here to win races, and Friday night we just came up short.”

Saturday night was a night Kaeding and company would like to forget as fuel issues irritated them all night long.

With 28-cars on hand, TK timed in 15th fastest, putting him outside of the heat inversion, but the crew went to work on the car right away.

Heat race action saw Kaeding start and finish in the fifth spot, and something still was not right on his machine.

Opting to change the fuel pump prior the feature event, a line came loose during the feature event, and Kaeding was forced to the pits with a DNF.

“It was one of those night’s, but you will have them,” Kaeding explained. “The guys were busy all night, and unfortunately, we just had some bad luck.”

Tim and his Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle,  Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2013.
