GREENWOOD, Neb. (Sept. 24, 2013) – The top-10 streak continued last weekend at I-80 Speedway for the 2nd annual Midwest Fall Brawl.
Mark Burch Motorsports and driver Danny Lasoski placed second and fourth, respectively, to make it 10 consecutive top-10 finishes.
“We weren’t happy whatsoever running second and fourth,” Lasoski said. “We were at I-80 Speedway, in Mark’s backyard. Those guys worked their tails off and gave me a great car both nights. We got the best results we could possibly get.”
After starting on the outside of the front row of his heat race on Friday, Lasoski took the lead on the opening lap and led the distance. That earned him enough points to advance to the feature redraw and he pulled the No. 1 in the random draw to start on the pole for the main event.
Lasoski led the first three laps before Jack Dover took over the top spot.
“We thought we were rolling around good until the 53 drove around us,” he said of Dover. “One of the restarts I made a makeshift slide on him. He was the class of the field.”
Lasoski maintained the runner-up position for the remainder of the race.
On Saturday, the duo returned to the fast track and Lasoski advanced from fifth to third place in his heat race. However, that put him one spot out of a trip to the feature redraw and the Mark Burch Motorsports entry started the main event on the inside of the fifth row.
“We started ninth and made it to fourth pretty quick,” he said. “When it laid rubber we were as far as we got.”
Lasoski said the track took rubber approximately a third of the way through the 25-lap feature and he ended fourth, which was the team’s 14th top-five result of the season.
Mark Burch Motorsports and Lasoski plan on competing next at the 26th annual Short Track Nationals – held Oct. 24-26 at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark.
