“It was an okay weekend for us,” Abreu said. “We had pretty good car speed both night’s, but we just came up a little short.”

Saturday night, Abreu started his night off by timing his Abreu Vineyards/ButlerBuilt/FK Rod Ends backed machine in sixth fastest, putting him in the third heat race.

Getting into the third spot, Abreu would hold off Carson Macedo, as the duo made contact down the front stretch, and transfer into the feature and the Dash.

Lining up fifth in the Dash, Abreu would score a sixth place finish, putting himself in the third row of the 30-lap feature event.

When the feature went green, Abreu slipped back to the eighth spot as he battled with the likes of Craig Stidham and Evan Suggs.

A lap 10 restart saw the Rutherford, CA driver pick up a few positions as he cleared Stidham and DJ Netto to take the fifth spot, as he chased after Jonathan Allard.

As the laps wound down, Abreu tried everything to pick up a few more spots, but came across the line in the fifth spot.

Friday night at the Ocean Speedway, Abreu timed his machine in fourth fastest, and started the 30-lap feature in the third row.

Slipping back to seventh at the start of the feature, Abreu was able to get going on the hooked up surface, as he carved his way forward to a third place finish.

“It was nice to get back in the winged car again, “Abreu said. “With Trophy Cup this weekend, it was nice to get out here and learn a few things that will hopefully help us do well in Tulare.”

Rico and his team would like to thank Abreu Vineyards, ButlerBuilt, FK Rod Ends, Schoenfeld, Keith Kunz Motorsports, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, and Willwood for their support.
