Double Header Weekend of Racing

CHICO, CA – (April 28, 2014)…silver dollar Speedway chico On Friday night the speedway will host Tri Counties Bank point championship racing #6 presented by Enterprise Rent a Car / JP’s Paint and Body Works and Fry’s Metal.  Four racing divisions will be on hand led by the 410 winged sprint cars, mini stocks, dirt modifieds and the Perma Zyme wingless sprint cars.

On Saturday night the speedway will host the traveling King of the West sprint car series.  The “Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial” will feature over 30 cars vying for the lion’s share of an inflated purse, special awards and a 40-lap main event.  The winged economy sprints will also be part of the Saturday night show.

Friday night May 2nd, the pit gate opens at 4 pm.  The front grandstand gate is set to open at 6 pm.  A special $3.00 off coupon will be presented to the adult fans that buy a Friday night ticket and are planning on going Saturday night.  The coupon is to be used towards Saturday night’s ticket.

On Saturday night the front gate will open at 5 pm with racing slated to begin around 6:30 pm.  Red Line Oil will also be partnering with the pre-race autograph session/ meet & greet that will feature Dominic & Gary Scelzi, Kyle & Rick Hirst and Bud Kaeding! The session will take place from 5pm to 5:45pm on Saturday May 3 at Silver Dollar Speedway!

Camping is available for the weekend and is $30 a night that is collected by the fairgrounds.  On Saturday the Northern California Auto Racing Alumni will hold their annual racers barbeque at the garden court area inside the fairgrounds.  The lunch takes place at noon.

Enterprise Rent a Car and JP’s Paint and Body Works will offer numerous give-a-ways to the grandstand crowd on Friday night.  This is their third year of sponsoring a race night at the speedway.

Children will be involved on Saturday night because after each heat race the winner will stop on the front stretch and present a young boy or girl with a trophy.  This annual tradition at the Bradway is always a big hit.

This is the first of only two visits this year to Silver Dollar Speedway in 2014 for the King of the West series.  The series will return on June 6th and host the 2nd Annual David Tarter Memorial.
