Jackson, MN — (July 8, 2016) — Gregg Bakker was victorious for the second straight week at Jackson Motorplex on Friday during National Wild Turkey Federation and ASI Contracting Night.
Additionally, Skylar Prochaska, Brandon Allen and Brandon Stevenson each reached the Winner’s Circle for the first time this year at the premier half-mile oval.
Bakker capped the night by capturing the second Last-Deck® 360 Sprint Cars main event as the class showcased twin features for the second straight week. Bakker, who won the first of double main events last weekend, charged from 19th to 11th place during the Wayne Gohr Memorial feature that opened feature competition on Friday. That earned Bakker a starting position on the outside of the front row for the second 20-lap main event as the top 12 drivers were inverted.
Bakker took advantage of the starting position and he held off sixth-starting Casey Friedrichsen for the triumph with Tim Kaeding charging from 10 th to third place. Derrik Lusk and Bill Boles rounded out the top five, respectively.
Prochaska, who is the current points leader, opened the event by maneuvering from third to claim the Wayne Gohr Memorial race. Chris Martin ended in second with eighth-starting Kaeding in third, Carson McCarl fourth and James Broty fifth.
Kevin Flowers, Martin and Broty each won a heat race.
Allen was victorious in the Liquid Nitro IMCA 305 Sprint Cars feature as Jeremy Schultz settled for second place, points leader Mike Stien was third, Jesse Lindberg ended fourth and Colin Smith completed the top five.
Schultz and Kaleb Johnson were the heat race winners.
Stevenson held off fifth-starting Alex Schriever to garner the Heartland Racing Association Non-Wing Sprints triumph.
Clinton Bruns scored a third-place result with Tony Rustad fourth and Nate Laugen fifth.
Bruns and Laugen both garnered a heat race victory.
Jackson Motorplex will return to action on Saturday for Bank Midwest Night, which features Wilmont Oil IMCA a mods, Bohl’s Small Engine & Marine IMCA sport mods, Minnesota West – Jackson Campus IMCA hobby stocks, Boji Bay Water Park IMCA sport compacts and After Hours Graphics & Tees IMCA stock cars.
Tickets for Saturday’s program are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors ages 65 and older, $6 for students ages 13 to 18 and free for children ages 12 and younger. Pit passes are $30.
The pits will open at 4 p.m. with the main gates opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 7 p.m.
