Amanda Ferguson Visits Astatula Elementary School

Last Tuesday, October 27th, Amanda spent the day with her KJ Motorsports #20 sprint car at the Astatula Elementary School for the Arts in Astatula, FL. Astatula is about 20 miles Northwest of Orlando. Amanda was invited to speak to kindergarten, first and fifth grade students about racing.

Rain Dampens SSP’s Candy Bowl V on Saturday for the Fourth Straight Year

Rain played a major role once again at the 5th Annual Candy Bowl presented by J&K Salvage of York held on Saturday, October 31. A slow drizzle began to fall during the Mini Van feature event. Track crews immediately began circling the track to keep it in racing shape and after a 45 minute delay, plans were in place to resume racing when a second band of showers developed out of nowhere just west of the track. When the second band hit, all hopes of completing the features on Saturday night were lost.

World Finals Take Center Stage on “On Track On Radio” Live Monday at Noon Eastern

Concord, NC— November 1, 2009—The third annual World of Outlaws World Finals will take center stage on Monday (November 2) at Noon Eastern on “On Track On Radio,” hosted by veteran motorsports journalist Tim Tuttle for Sports Illustrated and SI.com along with fellow longtime racing reporter Steve Page on RaceFanRadio.com. World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series driver Jason Meyers will join the pair along with current World of Outlaws Late Model Series point leader Steve Francis, as the World of Outlaws will be the main feature of the hour-long show.

Troy Regier Wins the Battle and the War

Troy Regier not only won the Saturday’s fifty lap Supermodified feature at the LVMS Bullring, he took the 2009 Supermodified Racing Association Championship by merely starting the feature. This was the eighth time Troy has won the West Coast Championship in recent years. Although many were expecting Troy to announce his retirement from full time competition in Victory Lane, no announcement was forthcoming and he refused to get specific when asked in the pits after the races.
