For its first 14 years the Glen Niebel Classic 100 has been held on Sunday afternoon at Anderson Speedway. When the green flag drops on the 15th Annual Glen Niebel Classic and the Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW season opener, it will happen on Saturday night April 25.

In many sports, competitors fear the “sophomore slump” as they start their second season. Second year drivers in the Mel Kenyon Midget Series seem to be the exception to the “sophomore slump” rule. The 2015 sophomores Ashlea Albertson, Logan and Ryan Huggler head into the Mel Kenyon Midget Series race at the Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome on Saturday night looking to build on their rookie year in 2014.

Saturday marks the opening of USSA’s 6th racing season

When the pit gates open of Saturday afternoon at Anderson Speedway, the United States Speed Association will begin its sixth season of competition. Born in 2010, the Indiana based sanctioning body, has grown from the depths of the worst economy since the Great Depression to preparing to stage a 24 event schedule in 2015. Once again in 2015, USSA will feature two divisions of racing, the Mel Kenyon Midget Series and the Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW.

UNOH and USSA sign five year deal for scholarships

Officials of the University of Northwestern Ohio and the United States Speed Association have announced that USSA and its two racing series, The Mel Kenyon Midget Series and the Sprint Car Challenge Series will award one $2500 Scholarship per year to a student enrolling in the UNOH Automotive/High Performance, Associate of Applied Science Degree program in the UNOH College of Applied Sciences.
