Rutherford Wins USAC West Coast Sprint Car Feature at Ventura

After mechanical issues sidelined Ricky Lewis, Troy Rutherford (Ojai, CA) led the last four laps to win the “ARP Battle of the Beach Race #2” at Ventura Raceway. Racing his #11 Trench Shoring / Grimes Rock Maxim, Rutherford became the sixth different driver to win a USAC West Coast Sprint Car feature in 2019. Brandon Wiley, Tanner Boul, hard charger Charlie Butcher, and Koen Shaw chased the former track champion to the checkered flags.

Troy Rutherford Defends Home Turf Against USAC/CRA Invaders at Ventura

Reclaiming the lead from Jake Swanson on lap 27, Troy Rutherford (Ojai, CA) scored the Saturday night victory at Ventura Raceway. Racing his #11 Trench Shoring / Grimes Rock Maxim with an iron block 360 cubic-inch engine, Rutherford started eleventh and earned his second career AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car triumph. Hard charger Austin Williams, Swanson, A.J. Bender, and point leader Brody Roa followed Troy to the checkered flags.

Guardino Wins Round One of Battle on the Beach

After trading the lead with Jake Swanson, Tristan Guardino (Fremont, CA) sailed to his first USAC West Coast Sprint Car victory of the year at Ventura Raceway. Racing the family owned #15T Dorso’s Automotive / Allied Auto Stores Maxim, Tristan’s earned $1,500 for his efforts.
