Before any engines were fired on Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway ARDC Midget owner Jerry Steward talked about how much a win at Williams Grove would mean to him. Steward’s driver Ryan Smith, who has many wins in many different divisions agreed, so when Smith remarked, “Hey, it’s Williams Grove” while standing in Victory Lane, after winning the first of two 20 lap features, it was understandable that both owner and driver had huge smiles on their faces.

Showing a never give up attitude after losing the lead early in the race Oroville, California’s Sean Becker came back strong in the later stages and made the last lap count in the main event, getting by Placerville’s Andy Gregg to score an extremely entertaining victory with the Golden State Challenge 410 Sprint Car Series on Saturday night at the Santa Maria Speedway.

Waynesfield Raceway Park crossed the halfway point of the 2010 season with a great show featuring the Lee’s Hydraulics Non Wing Sprint Cars battling in one of their last 2 chances to hit the track before the 2nd Annual Jack Hewitt Classic on August 7th. Along with the Non Wing Sprint cars, the Miracle Motorsports Tuff Trucks, JR and Sons Service Center Compacts, and Fowler and Hadding 1000cc Mini Sprints all saw action as well.

Joey Saldana has said a number of times this season that you need a little luck on your side when racing with the World of Outlaws, and he has had a couple of potential wins slip through his fingers by circumstances out of his control and by having some bad luck. He certainly had good luck on his side on Saturday night as he was victorious at Beaver Dam Raceway in Wisconsin in the Jim Boyd “JB” Memorial, despite having a rapidly deflating right rear tire during the waning laps at the high-banked 1/3-mile bullring.
