One week after picking up the Opening Win at the Knoxville Raceway, Ian Madsen backed up his performance with a fifth place finish during a soggy night in Marion County.

After crashes Wednesday and Friday night, Ian Madsen went out and dominated the opening night at the Knoxville Raceway, giving him an early boost in what many are calling the toughest weekly show ever at the historic speedway.

Continuing to mesh with new crew chief, Leonard Lee, Ian Madsen and his KCP Racing team put together two very strong nights of action as they competed in Jacksonville, IL and Burlington, IA over the weekend.

Climbing aboard a 360ci powered machine for the first time in eight-years, Ian Madsen had a strong weekend with the ASCS Midwest Region at the I 80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE in what was the KCP Racing team’s first weekend with Leonard Lee spinning wrenches, and calling the shots.

A last minute decision paid off for Keneric Racing, as they made the call to put Ian Madsen in the seat of their potent entry for the most recent World Series Sprint Car events, and the younger Madsen picked up two top-five finishes.

On the heels of a very tough week, Ian Madsen and his McDonald Motorsports team rebounded nicely for the Australian Championship in Tasmania, AU as they tallied two second place finishes, however, following the marathon, rubber-down race Saturday night, Madsen’s car came up light at the scales, and he was disqualified from his finishing position.

Unfortunately, during one of the busiest and biggest weeks of the Australian season, Ian Madsen had one of those weeks that leaves you scratching your head, and wondering what went wrong.

With the Holidays coming and going, Ian Madsen was a busy man in Australia competing in World Series Sprint Car Speedweek that kicked off on Boxing Day, but unfortunately for Madsen, it was a week that he would soon like to forget.

With the US season winding down rapidly, Ian Madsen and his KCP Racing team enjoyed a few weeks off, but are now ready to get back to action at next weekends World Finals in Charlotte, NC.
