Saturday night, Tony Gomes and the C&M Motorsports team stayed hot at Placerville Speedway as the Modesto, CA was back in victory lane for the second time in three races at the quarter mile bullring in El Dorado County.

Winning the ‘Big Trophy’ at Placerville Speedway in 2024, Tony Gomes and C&M Motorsports made sure the unique perpetual hardware returned to Lincoln, CA for another year as Gomes picked up the win on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.

Heading into Saturday night’s regular season finale at Placerville Speedway, Tony Gomes entered the night in shouting distance of the track championship, but focused on what he could control and he did just that as he picked up his second feature event of the season.

Tony Gomes and C&M Motorsports have seemingly been in the mix at each winged 360 race held at Placerville Speedway in 2023. After late race issues hindered them two weeks ago, Gomes and company bounced back in a big way on Saturday night as he raced to his second feature event win of the season.

Having speed during the first two events at Placerville Speedway, circumstances had yielded strong finishes for Tony Gomes and C&M Motorsports. That changed Saturday night when the Modesto, CA driver raced his way to his first feature event win of the 2023 season.

Over the years, that first win at Placerville Speedway has eluded Tony Gomes. That changed on Saturday night, as Gomes wired the field during the track’s crowned jewel event and raced his way to a memorable win, and gave the C&M Motorsports team its first Mark Forni Classic triumph in doing so.
