Chico, CA — The 25th annual Silver Cup Race of Champions scheduled for this weekend at the Silver Dollar Speedway has been canceled due to severe weather this past week in Chico with more bad weather on the way.

Unfortunately, this race will not be rescheduled. Rain has kept maintenance workers and Silver Dollar Speedway track prep crew unable to get anywhere near the race track because of the heavy saturated pit area. The forecast calls for more rain all weekend long in and around the Chico area.

“We were hopeful to get this race in this weekend but after taking another look at our facilities, race track and surrounding areas it is just to wet to have races,” said Promoter Dennis Gage.

The 2011 Wells Fargo Friday night point championship season is set to begin on Friday night, April 1, with a full slate of divisions including the 410 winged sprints, dirt modifieds, wingless sprints and street stocks. A special reality television star will serve as our Grand Marshall of this event.
