ATTICA, OHIO – Persistent rain showers has forced the cancellation of the first night of the HD Supply Spring Nationals at Attica Raceway Park for Friday, April 8. However, the first appearance of the 2011 season of the O’Reilly Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars at “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant is still on for Saturday, April 9.

“It rained off and on Thursday night and most of the morning and there was no time for significant drying throughout the day. It’s unfortunate because we knew the fans were really looking forward to this event. But, we will do everything we can to get the racing in Saturday,” said Rex LeJeune, ARP’s director of operations.

Because of Friday’s rain-out, the Fultz Fabrications and Speed Shop UMP Late Models will now be included in Saturday’s racing card along with the All Star Sprints and Fremont Fence 305 Sprints. Pit gates will open at 3:30 p.m. with grandstands opening at 4 p.m. and racing underway at 7 p.m.

Besides the All Star drivers of Tim Shaffer, Greg Wilson, David Gravel, Cap Henry, Bill Rose, Dale Blaney and Attica’s weekly stars of Byron Reed, Craig Mintz, Phil Gressman, Dean Jacobs, Kevin Lee and more, it has been confirmed that Kasey Kahne’s sprint teams of Joey Saldana, Brad Sweet, Cody Darrah and Paul McMahan will be competing Saturday.
