THUNDERSTORM AT GATE-OPENING FORCES EMMR BENEFIT CANCELLATION
The first in what appeared on the radar to be a series of evening thunderstorms hit the Pigeon Hills ten minutes after gates opened Sunday, forcing promoters to cancel the “Sprint Car Spectacular” program intended to benefit the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing.

Vern Wheeler Jr won the sprint car feature Saturday at Marysville Raceway Park. Billy Wallace, Kyle Hirst, Colby Wiesz, and Johnny Herrera rounded out the top five.

The Rislone URC Sprint Series presented their fourth show of the season with the sixth running of the Jack Gunn Memorial 358/360 Sprint Challenge Saturday night at the Selinsgrove Speedway. The Valley Forge Inc event went on under threatening skies as Promoter Charlie Paige moved forward with the show that developed into a thriller.
