Lawton, OK — (June 20, 2012) — Taking his fourth win of the 2012 season, Oklahoma City’s Wayne Johnson utilized patience and lapped traffic to sneak by Seth Bergman in the final third of the night’s thirty lap affair.
Drawing out the fourth starting spot, Johnson settled into third with the P.P.M./Eagle No. 23 of Seth Bergman beating out the Penske No. 1 of Sean McClelland for the top spot before the caution waved with four laps completed for the spun No. 99 of Brady Bacon.
Retaking the green, lap five would provide another caution as Dale Wester and Andy Shouse came together, ultimately sending both machines pit side.
Going back to the last fully completed lap, the race resumed with twenty five laps to run and Seth Bergman continuing the show the way.
Taking over the runner up spot for a moment, the Vacuworx No. 05 of Brad Loyet would try for the lead but to no avail as Wayne Johnson took over the runner up spot.
Holding a sizable advantage over the field, Bergman held a quick pace around the high-banked quarter mile oval until sower traffic began coming into play.
Having taken away second on lap eight, the Oil Medics No. 77x would begin his pursuit of Bergman into the back of the field, cutting time out of Bergman’s lead with lead. Working into the final third of the night’s feature event, the No. 23 of Seth Bergman would pull to the back of Patrick Stasa.
Taking his chances around the No. 11s, Bergman would abandon the cushion with Johnson sitting within striking distance. Unable to clear the No. 11s, Bergman would sacrifice nearly all of his momentum.
Pulling to the back bumper of Bergman’s Superior Marine No. 23, Johnson drove his Oil Medics 77 to the center of the track; carrying the car across the track with the race lead and room to spare on lap twenty three.
Pulling to a straight-a-way advantage, Wayne Johnson walked away from the field to his fourth win of the 2012 season. Seth Bergman would post a runner up finish with Jason Johnson making several late race charges to come from eleventh to third. Tony Bruce and Brad Loyet rounded out the top five.
Logan Forler would charge from tenth to take sixth with Danny Lasoski and Brian Brown tag teaming the field to take seventh and eighth from the fourteenth and fifteenth starting positions. Johnny Herrera and Kevin Ramey rounded out the top ten.
