Sapulpa, OK — (August 17, 2012) — It’s always nice to win at home and that is exactly what Brady Bacon did this past Friday night, taking his sixth win of the 2012 season on a very technical Creek County Speedway.

“It was both extremes. Turn one and two was like bone slick and the top of turns three and four has a cushion that’s like a foot and a half tall so you had to be really careful up there” commented Bacon. Reflecting on his past experience at the quarter mile oval, the driver of the Fatheadz No. 99 explained, “I think racing here a lot helped me and we finally got to bring out some of our old tricks for these short, slick quarter miles and they really worked tonight.”

After the caution flew with only a single lap complete for the spun No. 11s of Joe Wood Jr., Bacon would ride in the runner up spot as Aaron Reutzel jumped to the point from the pole position.

Working the high line in turns three and four and the low line in turns one and two, Bacon would run side by side with the Griffith Truck and Equipment No. 17 for several laps.

Leading on lap six, Bacon would hand the lead back on lap seven before retaking the top spot on the following circuit.

Pulling up on the back of the field, Bacon would hold a fair advantage as the battle for second saw Kevin Swindell work his way into the mix. Taking the runner up spot, it was a matter of who could clear lapped cars the fastest as Bacon saw his advantage jump as much as seven car lengths on any given lap.

Firing off from the eighth spot, the halfway point would yield another driver in the mix as Johnny Herrera cleared Reutzel for third with Brad Loyet in tow.

With battles all the way though the top five, the caution would bring the field single file on lap twenty-four for the stalled 11s of Joe Wood Jr. Leaving the track for causing two cautions in the A-Feature, Wood would be scored twenty-second.

With all lapped traffic electing to drop to the tail of the field, the fight at the front was wide open. Holding off the charge of Kevin Swindell on the restart, the battle on the track was still for third as Brad Loyet continued his assault on Johnny Herrera.

Back in slower traffic by lap twenty-seven, Brady Bacon would be un-phased en-route to victory. Kevin Swindell would take the runner up spot with Brad Loyet taking third in the closing lap. Johnny Herrera was fourth with Aaron Reutzel setting for the fifth.

Logan Forler crossed the line sixth with Wayne Johnson seventh. Tony Bruce Jr. was eighth, Matt Covington ninth, and Mike Goodman making up the drivers in the top ten.
