SYRACUSE, NY – It’s hard to believe that the 2013 marks the 30th anniversary for the Empire Super Sprints and what better way to start the celebration by announcing that Lucas Oil Products, Inc. has returned to be the tour sponsor.  Once again the tour will be officially called the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) and will again be showcasing the very best 360 sprint car drivers from two nations.

With just the annual awards banquet left for the 2012 season, plans are already underway for the 30th anniversary tour.

“We are so honored to have Lucas Oil back our tour for the fifth consecutive year.” said ESS President Chuck Miller.  “It’s no secret that its harder and harder to stay successful in racing through these times but with Lucas’ tremendous support is good to know that we will be able to give the race teams another very lucrative point fund for next year.”

The one of a kind Lucas/ESS shield designed exclusively by the Lucas Oil art department will again be showcased at all events throughout the 2013 season.  Not only will ESS teams benefit from a large cash point fund but also a large amount of Lucas Oil products as well.

Coming off a season where 99 different drivers attended ESS events, next year is looking to see even more competitors. For the full point ESS events in 2012, the average car count was 30.8 with a high of 38 at Rolling Wheels on July 3rd. A total of 19 drivers attended at least 2/3rds of the ESS events and will receive from the overall point fund and contingencies.
