Rossburg, OH — (March 31, 2015) — Another year, but the results remain the same.
Officials from SPEED SPORT Magazine and NationalSpeedSportNews.com, America’s trusted motorsports authority since 1934, announced today that their readers have voted Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio as ‘My Favorite Track’ for the fourth consecutive year.
Located just 60 miles northwest of Dayton, Ohio in historic Darke County, the half-mile clay oval, owned by three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart, received 22.8 percent of the My Favorite Track vote to top the list. Last year, Eldora received 19.4 percent of the overall vote.
Virginia International Raceway, located in Alton, Va., garnered runner up honors to Eldora in the 2015 poll. Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway placed second in 2014, while the Indianapolis Motor Speedway finished behind Eldora in 2012 and 2013.
“It is again an honor for our entire team to have the fans vote Eldora as their favorite track in the country,” said General Manager Roger Slack. “We remain committed to the foundation and vision of Earl and Berneice Baltes and fulfilling their dreams of building Eldora into everything they hoped it could become. And our dedicated family of loyal fans, competitors, staff and officials can be assured that we will be working just as hard to have an even bigger 2015 as we kickoff our 62nd consecutive season.”
The fourth edition of SPEED SPORT’s My Favorite Track survey was conducted in late February and early March. The response was more than twice that received during last year’s competition and 10 times more than during the inaugural year in 2012.
SPEED SPORT officials will present the “My Favorite Tracks” award later this year.
