Taking the lead from Mike Spencer on lap 14, “The Demon” Damion Gardner of Concord sliced his way through heavy traffic to claim Saturday’s “Sokola Shootout” at Perris Auto Speedway. Earning an extra $500 bonus from AMA Plastics, Gardner’s second straight Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car triumph was worth $3,000 for his efforts.

Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway, after hosting Saturday night’s “Sokola Shootout,” also hosts the next AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint race on April 12. Defending series champion Damion Gardner has emerged as the early point leader, 20 points ahead of 2013 third-place driver Nic Faas.
