Casa Grande, AZ… Racing past Michael Curtis on lap 15, C.J. Leary (Greenfield, IN) led the rest of the way to claim Saturday’s “Cotton Classic” at Central Arizona Speedway. Piloting the Reinbold / Underwood Motorsports’ #19 AME Electrical / Mesilla Valley Transportation Spike, C.J’s $2,000 triumph was the first Sands Chevrolet USAC SouthWest Sprint Car 410 race in series history.

R.J. Johnson Sweeps USAC Southwest Program at Central Arizona Speedway
R.J. Johnson won the USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series feature Saturday night at Central Arizona Speedway. Johnson set fast time, won his heat race, and then took the lead from C.J. Leary on lap 10 to win the main event. Leary, Brady Short, Tye Mihocko, and Dennis Gile rounded out the top five.
