The 27th Anniversary season for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) comes down to a close on Saturday evening, November 20th when it will crown Steve Poirier tour champion at the annual awards banquet. The banquet will end one of the most successful seasons in ESS history, a year that will be remembered for years to come.
The name of Mal Lane goes down in the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints’ (ESS) history books. The former six time champion of the 28 year old organization still sits second on the all-time win list at 36 and if there was an ESS Hall of Fame he would be inducted in the first class.
This Saturday afternoon a fleet of winged super sprint stars and cars from the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints will converge on to the historic Montgomery County Fairgrounds, the home of the Fonda Speedway. It’s the first day of the very popular McDonald’s Weekend and it will be a very important event as the over all Lucas Oil and also the SUNY Canton Series Champions will be crowned when the checkered flag falls.

New ideas and vigor has seen the first half of the 2010 season on the road to success. Chip Burdick stayed on as the leader of the 4/10ths mile oval and the LaFargeville facility hasn’t missed a beat.
