For a teenager turning 16-years-old means one thing — getting a driver’s license. While that one certainly held true for Trey Starks, there was an even more pressing item that awaited him as well when that monumental birthday came back in March.

There’s something about the Skagit 360 Nationals at Skagit Speedway in Washington, that just agrees with Trey Starks.

Trey Starks has had a lot of variety to his schedule this season, as he competed in both the 410 and 360-sprint car ranks. He’ll continue to jump between the two over the course of the next three weeks.

There have been plenty of firsts for 16-year-old Trey Starks this season. He made his first start at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Iowa, at the end of April, winning his first heat race with the World of Outlaws that night to earn a spot in the dash.

The last few weeks seemed like an eternity for Trey Starks. Following a family vacation and a rainout last weekend, the 16-year-old was back behind the wheel of his familiar No. 55 for the first time in three weeks at Skagit Speedway

Trey Starks has traveled thousands of miles by ground and tens of thousands of mile by air this year, as he has visited 10 tracks in five states, traversing as far south as Arizona and as far east as Ohio, with the majority of those starts coming in the state of California. The 16-year-old made his shortest trip of the season last Saturday night — a mere 62 miles, as he paid his first visit of the year to Grays Harbor Raceway Park in his home state of Washington.

The sprint car education that Trey Starks received the last few weeks competing with the World of Outlaws at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Iowa and the legendary Eldora Speedway in Ohio was priceless.
