His time in “The Keystone State” comes to a head this week as the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series invades the region for a trio of races.
“We had a string of bad runs going,” he said. “We learned some stuff this weekend and it was good to wrap it up with a solid finish. We needed a couple of more laps at Susquehanna and we might have had a top five.”
Starks advanced from 14th to an eighth-place result last Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. It also marked his fourth top 10 in five races against the famed Pennsylvania Posse.
Starks recorded a top 10 for the third straight weekend that he has been competing in Central Pennsylvania and he capped this weekend with his first career top-five result in ‘The Keystone State.’
Starks took to the fast half-mile oval quickly and he recorded a top-10 result for the second straight week against the Pennsylvania Posse last Saturday.
After driving his way into the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series $50,000-to-win National Open feature at Williams Grove Speedway last October, Starks scored a top 10 during his return to the famed half-mile track for its 75th annual season opener last Friday.
