There’s nothing quite like southern Indiana’s Bloomington Speedway in the springtime. One of the most scenic venues on the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship slate, the 1/4-mile oval remains serene and peaceful until Friday night when the switch is flipped, the red clay is slung onto the hillside, and suddenly, all is right with the world.
The jubilation following a hard-fought victory is one of the most satisfying experiences in all of sport.
However, the celebration displayed by Justin Grant in the immediate moments after his USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship score on Saturday night at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway was certainly one that won’t soon be forgotten.
There are few things in life that stir up the senses like Rossburg, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway. From the pure adrenaline rush of witnessing a USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car on the hammer at speed up against the outside wall to the history of the place that was carved out of a western Ohio field some seven decades ago, there is simply nothing else like it.
The last time C.J. Leary won at Florida’s Ocala Speedway, it wound up being a very good year. After parlaying a final night Winter Dirt Games victory in 2019 at Ocala into a USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship later that season, the Greenfield, Ind. racer hopes that 2024 will bear a much similar fruit.
Quite frankly, Florida’s Ocala Speedway has served all of Justin Grant’s banking needs throughout Winter Dirt Games XV. After three USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship feature victories in three starts this year, the 3/8-mile dirt oval has been a figurative ATM for Grant and his TOPP Motorsports/NOS Energy Drink – Bow Foundation – TOPP Industries/Maxim/Kistler Chevy.
