From the United States Auto Club
The United States Auto Club announced plans today for fans holding ticket receipts from the postponed Silver Crown race that was scheduled at The Action track in Terre Haute, IN on July 3rd.
Returning fans using the postponed ticket receipts for entry at the July 13th Indiana Sprint Week date at Terre Haute will be rewarded with a special edition Indiana Sprint Week shirt popular with many race fans. The shirt, valued at $20, is being offered as a special “thank-you” for the fans enduring the troublesome racing conditions, compounded by quickly deteriorating track conditions.
A new feature added to the planned night’s activities at Terre Haute will be an open “pit party” for ALL fans to meet drivers, get autographs and purchase shirts direct from the driver trailers. The Pit Party is open to all ticketed admission from 3:00 – 6:00 pm.
“USAC has a long and rich tradition in motorsports, and currently operates over 300 events annually” stated Kevin Miller, CEO of USAC Racing. “Sunday’s efforts were not our best, and we want to acknowledge the loyal fan base and the several new fans that came out to The Action Track for a afternoon of racing and left disappointed. We want to show our gratitude and offer a small token of our appreciation for supporting our racing programs.
Additionally, USAC has retained the services of Bob Sargent of Track Enterprises and Reece O’Conner of Kokomo Speedway for track management for the Indiana Sprint Week race next Wednesday. The partners come with vast experience and are committed partners of USAC Racing.
For fans who are unable to claim their postponed ticket stubs at the Indiana Sprint Week date, tickets can be redeemed at the scheduled September 10th USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series event at The Action Track.
A rescheduled SUMAR Classic date is currently being discussed between USAC and the Vigo County Fairboard as available dates are being reviewed.
