Santa Maria, CA — (January 15, 2013) —  Western Region Director Chris Kearns has announced a change in the upcoming Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Schedule. The popular Watsonville and Santa Maria doubleheader scheduled in June has been moved to one week earlier.

Originally scheduled for June 21st, the traditional 410s will clash at John Prentice’s Ocean Speedway on Friday the 14th. Last season, Mike Spencer won both events at the Watsonville 1/4-mile oval and “Cadillac” Cody Williams set a new 1-lap track record. For more details on the Watsonville shows, visit www.oceanspeedway.com.
The following night, the USAC/CRA Sprints will compete at Santa Maria Speedway for the “28th Bud Stanfield Memorial.” Last June, Austin Williams returned to the winner’s circle and “Showtime” Danny Sheridan scored a dramatic last corner victory at the August show. As this writing goes to press, new promoters Ruben and Katy Munoz are working on a website for track information.
The tenth season for the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series will kickoff March 1st with the two day “Copper On Dirt” at Canyon Speedway Park. The Peoria, Arizona facility will also host the USAC Western Midgets, West Coast Shootout Late Models, and IMCA Modifieds. Advance tickets are on sale and for more information, call (602) 258-7223 or visit www.canyonspeedwaypark.com.
The USAC Western Awards Banquet will be held on February 9th at the Woodland Auto Display in Paso Robles. In addition to USAC/CRA, the West Coast Sprints, Western Classic Sprints, Western Midgets, and Ignite Midgets will be honored. Tickets are $40 and everyone attending will get free admission to the Auto Collection Museum. Entries must be received by January 29th and forms can be found online at www.westcoastsprintcars.com/images/fpposter/121220banqet.jpg
