Continuing his very busy month of June piloting his Keith Kunz Midget, Rico Abreu scored a 12th place finish on pavement at the Iowa Speedway before charging his way to a second place finish Saturday night in Illinois with the POWRi.

One year ago to the day, Rico Abreu made his debut in a 410 winged sprint car at his home track, the Calistoga Speedway, and last night the local product returned to the vaunted ½ mile speedway and showcased the skill set he has acquired in 365 days as he simply dominated the 25-lap feature event to score his third career sprint car win.

Rico Abreu would simply like to forget the weekend he just had, as the youngster was in action in a pair of events and saw a strong run Friday get cut short in lapped traffic, and mechanical gremlins ended his night Saturday.

Just two weeks ago Rico Abreu was celebrating his first career sprint car win, and it was in a 360, and Saturday night the second year driver picked up his first 410 win and King of the West win as he scored the popular win in front of a very jubilant crowd.

Rico Abreu spent his weekend competing with the USAC National Midget Series, and the rookie midget driver scored an eighth place finish during the non-stop 30-lap feature after recording a DNF on Friday night.

Young Rico Abreu will remember April 27th at the Silver Dollar Speedway for the rest of his life, as the St. Helena native charged from his fifth starting spot and scored his first career sprint car win in the non stop affair at the Silver Dollar Speedway.
