Rilat won his heat race both nights and claimed a feature victory during his season debut with the ASCS Frontier Region, giving him and car owner Richard Saumure their third victory together this year.
Rilat led the final two thirds of the ASCS Gulf South Region Ronald Laney Memorial last Saturday at Battleground Speedway in the Richard Saumure owned No. 39c. It was Rilat’s first victory of the season in the United States and his first since claiming the Tyson Perez Memorial in Australia in February.
Piloting the Richard Saumure No. 39c sprint car, Rilat will tackle Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas, on Friday before wrapping up the weekend at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, Texas, on Saturday.
Rilat led all 25 laps last Saturday at Borderline Speedway in Mount Gambier, South Australia, Australia, to garner the 3rd annual Tyson Perez Memorial – a race that pays honor to Rilat’s longtime friend and former crew member, who passed away in 2010.
