Racing from fifth, Austin Liggett (Tracy, CA) slipped by Jake Swanson on the eleventh lap and sprinted to the Friday night “California Sprint Week” debut at Merced Speedway. Piloting the family owned #83 Excel Environmental Services / Liggett Trucking Maxim, Liggett scored his second career AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car triumph and became the tenth driver to win in fifteen races. Driving the BR Performance #91R HD Industries / Burris Racing Maxim, Roa scored his second AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car victory of the campaign and the eighth win of his career. “Thunder” Tommy Malcolm, fast qualifier Jake Swanson, “The Big Game Hunter” Austin Williams, and hard charger T.J. Damion Gardner Wins USAC/CRA Feature at Bakersfield

Taking the lead from Troy Rutherford on lap five, “The Demon” Damion Gardner (Concord, CA) scored the $3,000 victory at Bakersfield Speedway. Racing Mark Alexander’s #4 Trench Shoring / All Coast Construction Spike, Gardner became the sixth different winner in as many races with the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series. Damion’s 30-lap triumph was the eighty-first series win of his career as he was followed by Rutherford, fast qualifier Jake Swanson, “The Cadillac” Cody Williams, and Trent Carter. […]
