Grant Passes Coons For Second Career Sumar Classic Victory

Justin Grant became the first two-time winner of the Sumar Classic at the Terre Haute Action Track Saturday night with the USAC Silver Crown Series. Grant, from Ione, California, backed up his victory in 2018 by passing Jerry Coons Jr. following a restart with four laps to go for the victory driving the Ron Hemelgarn owned entry.

Henry, who led just the final half-straightaway of the 30-lap Buckeye Cup program, made his winning move when Marks attempted to clear a bundle of slower traffic in the final corner, opening the door for Henry to squeeze through on the bottom and out sprint Marks to the line.

Terry McCarl, who will run in the 360 class this season, started off things in spectacular fashion with victory, and Tyler Groenendyk picked up his fifth career win with the Pro Sprints presented by Pace Performance on a cold, windy night at the “Sprint Car Capital of the World.”
