Dalman Drives Bottom to Thrilling GLSS Victory at I-96 Speedway

Gregg Dalman thrilled a capacity crowd at I-96 Speedway by charging from ninth starting spot to win the Great Lakes Super Sprint feature Friday at I-96 Speedway. While most of the fast cars were using the top of the racetrack, Dalman used the bottom of the track to take the lead from Max Stambaugh, only to lose it during a mid-race restart, and chased down Stambaugh in the closing stages of the main event to take the win.

Carson Macedo Bests 43-Car Knoxville Field

A beautiful night at Knoxville Raceway saw a great crowd and great racing. Lemoore, California’s Carson Macedo emerged victorious amongst a stout field of 43 410 sprint cars. The win was Macedo’s third, was worth $5,000 and came aboard the Jason Johnson Racing #41. Sioux Falls, South Dakota’s Clint Garner passed Terry McCarl late in traffic to take his 44th career 360 win. Mike Mayberry claimed his third career Pace Performance Pro Sprints win, while Scotty Johnson claimed his first ever win at Knoxville in the Pros make-up feature (from April 23).

Saturday night Butler Motor Speedway will open their gates for racing for the 70th season with newfound excitement courtesy of an ownership change during the off season. Tim Wilbur’s Christmas surprise was revealed officially to the racing world that his family had purchased the 3/8-mile oval in Coldwater, Michigan. Since that day there seems to be a level of positive energy building up to opening night I have not seen since Denny Donaldson took over the facility back in the early 90’s.
