Wampler made his homecoming to sprint car racing on June 18 at Lawton Speedway during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Bob Westphal Memorial Cup Speedweek event, which marked his first competitive race since 2006.
“The way we’re looking at it is that we know we’re out of the points deal so we’re going for wins,” he said. “If we have as many DNFS as wins, as long as that number is close to 10 I’ll be happy.”
Hagar is headed to Ohio to compete in the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Speedweek, which showcases nine races in as many days at eight different tracks.
The 19-year-old Norman, OK, native comes off USAC’s Indiana Midget Week to embark upon eleven consecutive nights of winged Sprint Car racing beginning tomorrow night at Lawton Speedway in Southwest Oklahoma and stretching into Ohio next week.
Dover dominated the 14th edition of the ASCS Warrior Region race last Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway near Cameron, Mo., where he was also victorious during the marquee event in 2010 and 2012.
