Former two-time Ocean Speedway Wingless track champion Ryan Bernal of Hollister scored a win for the hometown fans, winning the season opening USAC Western Classic Racing Series feature at Ocean on Friday night worth $2,000. Bernal won the 30 lap feature aboard the #73 A&A Precision / King Racing Products car after a wild duel with Loomis’ Kyle Hirst throughout much of the race.

Campbell’s Bud Kaeding drove the Werbach Motorsports #20 to victory in the 30 lap Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo feature on Friday night at Ocean Speedway Watsonville to kick off the 16 round 2012 season. TACO BRAVO EXTENDS DEAL, DAY WINS KAEDING SPRINT CAR GIVEAWAY

The Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo joined the Ocean Speedway banquet on Saturday night at the Coconut Grove Ballroom at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with 2011 series champion Ronnie Day of Salinas among the honorees.
