RAIN FORCES VENTURA OFFICIALS TO CANCEL SATURDAY’S RACE
Due to the heavy rain from last weekend’s storm and the forecasts of more rain throughout this week, officials at Ventura Raceway have cancelled the events scheduled for this Saturday, March 26th.

TROY RUTHERFORD SCORES $3,000 ALL COAST CHALLENGE WIN
Defending track champion Troy Rutherford of Ojai took the lead from Moorpark’s Kyle Smith on lap five and led the rest of the way to score the first round of the All Coast Construction 360 Challenge.

Troy Rutherford took the VRA checkers at Ventura Raceway Saturday night. Rutherford was chased by Derek Buckley, Johnathon Henry, Greg Taylor and Cory Kruseman.

It was a great night for VRA regular Steve Conrad as he started 15th in the feature and went on to take his first win in the 2011 season over a stellar field of VRA Sprint Car drivers.

RUTHERFORD LOOKS FOR REPEAT VENTURA WIN SATURDAY
This Saturday, March 12th, Jim Naylor’s Ventura Raceway will host the second round of action for the VRA 360 Sprint Cars. Also on the card will be the VRA Senior Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, Sport Compacts, and VRA Go-Karts. The front gates will open at 3:00pm with racing at “The Best Little Dirt Track In America” to begin at 5:30pm.

Troy Rutherford started the new 2011 season the same way he let off in 2010 with a powerful win over Greg Taylor in the 30 lap feature for VRA Sprints Saturday night.

VENTURA SEASON BEGINS MARCH 5TH
Ventura Raceway will open its 2011 season on Saturday night March 5, with a full program of short track racing action on its clay oval at the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura, CA. On that night we will feature VRA Sprint Cars, VRA Dwarf Cars, IMCA Modifieds, VRA Kids Classes and our new VRA Mod Lite Class.

VENTURA’S “ARP FALL CLASSIC” CANCELLED
The inability to complete necessary pit and raceway preparations at the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway prior to this Friday, following weekend rainfall in addition to the massive construction project in the outer pit area, predicted additional rainfall Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning and raceway and fairgrounds staffing problems over the holiday weekend, have led to cancellation of this year’s “ARP Fall Classic” USAC races at the southern California oval.

POSSIBLE FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 26 RESCHEDULING AT VENTURA FOR “ARP FALL CLASSIC”
Saturday’s “ARP Fall Classic” USAC races at Ventura, Calif., which have fallen victim to weather, may be rescheduled for Friday night, November 26 at the 1/5-mile dirt oval. If rescheduling is achieved, the event will include the USAC Mopar Western Midgets, Western Ford Focus and Western Focus Young Guns but will NOT include National points.
